VRPC Regional Council Meeting Minutes
VRPC Summer Events and Due Dates
Pony Club season is busy almost 100% now it seems and I am trying not to let anything slip through the cracks!
So, I thought a message to you would help me list what I need to remember.
Today is July 8th.
July 10 -- Thursday: National test applications for October tests need to be in my hands -- both traditional and dressage C3 and B -- our tests are October 25 and 26.
Club Nominating Committees: elected at a valid meeting of Sponsors at least 3 months before the club's fall Annual meeting. I request that you notify me of both dates. So far, I know of these:
DVPC Committee elected, meeting is October 28; MOCPC Committee elected, meeting is October 6th.
July 12: D3 rally, HB test
July 13: Championships prep at Frying Pan Park
July and August: 3 members going International!! C Brown for Games in Australia; J and R Dove to Tetrathlon Exchange in England and Ireland.
August: Select the VRPC 2009 National Youth Congress delegate. The list of VRPC members eligible is below -- C3 and up (maybe C2? HB?), 18 -21 on Jan.1, 2009. Please look at this and make appropriate contacts with any of your members that you would nominate. The USPC forms on the website are for 2008 but the 2009 information is likely to be similar.

D2 Rally June 28th: TEN teams!
Also done! What a remarkable learning experience and what fun to have our younger set out riding all 3 phases at the Long Branch Estate in Boyce.
This was probably the newest rally ever -- 100%, well maybe 99%, NEW. The Organizers of the past had passed the torch to Anne Craig and Iona Pillion, most of the D2s were new to rally and working in Pony Club teams, the Chief HM Judge (Christy Wise) was new to Virginia Region Rallies, and most parents were new to rally. Thus, this rally, and D2 rallies in general, provided some of the maximum learning opportunities in Pony Club for all. For those with little experience riding in the open this was quite an adventure. The slightly rolling terrain was just right for D2s. The ponies and horses were clean and happy and calm.
Thank you and Congratulations to all for the successes of the day.
